Excellent research, planning and production log.  The film obeys all the required conventions, if a little plainly.  The evaluation shows a good amount of understanding.

Evaluation of my project

• In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real
media products?
• How does your media product represent particular social groups?
• What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
• Who would be the audience for your media product?
• How did you attract/address your audience?
• What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this
product?

• In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

The project has all the film conventions in that the task asked for. This includes Match on action, shot/reverse shot and also not to break the 180 degree rule. The match on action part is when I opens the door and go thought the door and appear on the other side. Then the Shot/reverse shot bit happens when Me and John are talking the camera is shot behind me while John is talking and then behind John while i am talking. Then into the 180 degree rule when Me and John are talking one has to always be on the right and the other on the left even when the camera changes. All of these conventions are shown clearly in my film. I believe the shot/ reverse shot could have been improved because the camera was so close to the talking to hear what is being said that at one point John's head is blocking the view of my head. However the match on action is a good example and 180 degree rule is always done because John is on the right always and i am on the left in every shot.

• How does your media product represent particular social groups?

The media group that my product is aimed at the younger generation. This is because it is not a very interesting film and there for old people who properly turn it off. But there are some good examples of camera shot like Match on action and shot/reverse shot so it might be used by people wanting to now what Match on action and shot/reverse shot is.

• What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

The type of media institution that would distribute is for other schools and colleges that teach media and learning film conventions and editing. This would be used in lesson time as an good example of what the film conventions are. Including match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180 degree rule. I could put my film up on the Internet using this like YouTube or even blogger so that anyone who was interested could find out about it. Or they were not listening or you were away for the lesson and need to now what match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180 degree rule are.

• Who would be the audience for your media product?

The audience that would watch my product would be young people both male and female and media teachers at schools and colleges that need to show the students what film techniques and conventions are in media studies like match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180 degree rule. Also if it was put up on the Internet it could be viewed by anyone who searches about film techniques.

• How did you attract/address your audience?

My project attracts the audience by telling a simple story line that involves all the film conventions with in it. A title page to start the film has a bit of a comedic angle with the line "For boerd people around the world". There is a title at the end the film. I also used the opening title to tell the audience what the film is called .I also used a interesting opening scence with the speeded up part of me walking so id does not bore people watching a person walk across a yard. This is so the audience wants to keep watching the film. these are some thing that i hope would make the audience will be attracted to my film.

• What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I learnt how to use a video camera recorder and enhancing my shot to make them shot look better. I also learnt how to use iMovie on the Apple Mac's to edit my footage that i shot by cutting what you want out and keeping what you want. This filming and editing of the my film project has taught me many skills unculding how to use Imovie properly by using the effects and also using the fades and the titles. I have also learnt different film conventions and how films editied also how films are put together to make a film. This project gave me an insight into what it takes to make a film and the way every films are produced. Most films use the thing i used to make my film in there movies. Now is can watch a film and now what camera shot they are useing and what conventionjs and tecqunecs they are using to protary what they want. These include the different camera shots such as a master shot or extreme close up, how they moved the camera, crane shot or dolly. Also i got a good insight about editing the film and the effects that you can do with some produts to make even boring this look interseting. I enjoyed using iMovie to make you film it was a new experience.

The Making of my Movie

This is a screen shot of my opening page of my film. As you can see there are the extra clips on the side of the page that i don't want because they do not fit into my film for some reason. This image is of a title page for my project you add these by going to the title area on imovie and you write in what you want and it appears. Then you drag it to where you want it in your movie. I wanted this title to be at the front i dragged it in front of the other clips so it will play before the other ones do. The circled areas show my chose of what i want the words to do i just wanted them to appear on the screen so i put it on Centered title so it would be in the middle and just stay there. The other circle shows what happens when you drag the clip down this one say thanks to people so i put it at the end of my film.

This image is from my film this part is where i open the door and go into the classroom. This is the first part of my match on action part in the film. It starts with me opening the door as shown in this picture where is is a close up of my hand. To add more effect to this part of the film i put repeat frames which meant that is slowed down this made me opening a door more interesting than normal. To do this is chose which clip i wanted to change and then i chose the effect and then i click update at the top of the page which added the effect to the clip so i slowed down the clip like i wanted it to.

This clips is the second part of the match on action part of my film. The bit before was me pulling on the handle and now the image is of me pushing the door and walking through it. This means i have for fulled one of the tasks that you were supposed to do which was match on action and i have done this.

This is the next par t of my film. This part is where i walked thought the door and then i come and sit down in a chair next to a person who is already in the classroom. This is another of my tasks done because now i have done match on action and also i have sat down on a chair which is what you have to do in this task have a conversation sitting down.
This is the next part this is the first part on shot/ reverse shot. This is the shot part of shot/reverse shot because the camera is looking at me while i talk to john. John is on the right and i am on the left this is making sure i do not break the 180 degree rule that i have to for full in this task.

This is the next part of the shot. This is called shot reverse shot because now the camera is looking over my shoulder at john how is talking. This is reversed from the shot which is the picture before. John is still on the right and i am still on the left this means i have for fulled my task of not breaking the 180 degree rule. I have also completed anther task of doing shot reverse shot this is show in the two pictures above.

This is showing one of the effects that i put on to my film. This shows the part where is faded out the words from one shot and the words from the next shot appeared in on the screen. I did this by closing what type of fade i wanted weather it would fade in or out or would the words do something weird like spin out. I chose the smart looking one which was just a simple fade so the words faded away and the word from the next clip appeared. The picture with the circle show what happens when you drag the fade clip between the shots that you want so it means it fades out when the first clip is ending and then the next clip appears. I had 3 clips in the beginning so i have 2 fades in between each clip. The circle on the long picture also show a fade at the end of my movie where the film ends and me and John leave so it fades as we walk out the room and then the clip at the end appears.
The Screen Shots of the film
Making of the film
In this project i used imovie which is a very good tool this is becuase it is easy to use and there are so many effects that you can put on and in you films to make them better for example you could add a peice of music to the film which would change the hole film. Also can add transitions to the film which make the film look more interesting. This is the symbol that you click on to get up a black page on imovie. A image of this is shown bellow in the blank squares on the side this is where you film clips which you have filmed. Everytime you click
record and then stop a new clip will apper on the side here when i uploaded mine i had 13 clips which i had to chose form to make my film this was becuase during filming there were some mistakes and things needed to shot again so you can get the best out of every clip.
Bellow is a story board for my film:
My Film
The people in my film are in school and they are in the media hut working on the computer and there is a lesson going on in the back round of the film which shows that they are in a classroom environment. The actors are wearing school uniform to show that they are in a school setting because if they where wearing jeans and a t-shirt you would think they were at home or something like that. But because they are in there school uniform you now that they are in school. As the film took place in the media hut the topic of conversation was about media because it would not work if you were talking about chemistry in the media hut it would not work with the surroundings and would confuse the viewers because they would only think about chemistry.
