Evaluation of my project

• In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real
media products?
• How does your media product represent particular social groups?
• What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
• Who would be the audience for your media product?
• How did you attract/address your audience?
• What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this
product?

• In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

The project has all the film conventions in that the task asked for. This includes Match on action, shot/reverse shot and also not to break the 180 degree rule. The match on action part is when I opens the door and go thought the door and appear on the other side. Then the Shot/reverse shot bit happens when Me and John are talking the camera is shot behind me while John is talking and then behind John while i am talking. Then into the 180 degree rule when Me and John are talking one has to always be on the right and the other on the left even when the camera changes. All of these conventions are shown clearly in my film. I believe the shot/ reverse shot could have been improved because the camera was so close to the talking to hear what is being said that at one point John's head is blocking the view of my head. However the match on action is a good example and 180 degree rule is always done because John is on the right always and i am on the left in every shot.

• How does your media product represent particular social groups?

The media group that my product is aimed at the younger generation. This is because it is not a very interesting film and there for old people who properly turn it off. But there are some good examples of camera shot like Match on action and shot/reverse shot so it might be used by people wanting to now what Match on action and shot/reverse shot is.

• What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

The type of media institution that would distribute is for other schools and colleges that teach media and learning film conventions and editing. This would be used in lesson time as an good example of what the film conventions are. Including match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180 degree rule. I could put my film up on the Internet using this like YouTube or even blogger so that anyone who was interested could find out about it. Or they were not listening or you were away for the lesson and need to now what match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180 degree rule are.

• Who would be the audience for your media product?

The audience that would watch my product would be young people both male and female and media teachers at schools and colleges that need to show the students what film techniques and conventions are in media studies like match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180 degree rule. Also if it was put up on the Internet it could be viewed by anyone who searches about film techniques.

• How did you attract/address your audience?

My project attracts the audience by telling a simple story line that involves all the film conventions with in it. A title page to start the film has a bit of a comedic angle with the line "For boerd people around the world". There is a title at the end the film. I also used the opening title to tell the audience what the film is called .I also used a interesting opening scence with the speeded up part of me walking so id does not bore people watching a person walk across a yard. This is so the audience wants to keep watching the film. these are some thing that i hope would make the audience will be attracted to my film.

• What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I learnt how to use a video camera recorder and enhancing my shot to make them shot look better. I also learnt how to use iMovie on the Apple Mac's to edit my footage that i shot by cutting what you want out and keeping what you want. This filming and editing of the my film project has taught me many skills unculding how to use Imovie properly by using the effects and also using the fades and the titles. I have also learnt different film conventions and how films editied also how films are put together to make a film. This project gave me an insight into what it takes to make a film and the way every films are produced. Most films use the thing i used to make my film in there movies. Now is can watch a film and now what camera shot they are useing and what conventionjs and tecqunecs they are using to protary what they want. These include the different camera shots such as a master shot or extreme close up, how they moved the camera, crane shot or dolly. Also i got a good insight about editing the film and the effects that you can do with some produts to make even boring this look interseting. I enjoyed using iMovie to make you film it was a new experience.
